PORTLAND, Ore. – The Women's Basketball 2020-2021 season is officially complete. The Lions played a total of 17 games, 10 of them being conference match-ups.
Despite the defeated season and trials they faced all throughout, the teams morale did not waver.
"I am deeply grateful for the individuals who stuck it out during this weird and difficult season. The loyalty and character they showed is an inspiration to me," said Head Coach
Tim Bieri.
Today the team celebrated their two seniors,
Alexis Ruiz and Kai Warren, before their game against Oregon Tech. The pair were described as two of the best and most trustworthy teammates the program has seen. Bieri says, "Kai and Alexis – they have been vital glue pieces for our team over the past three years. As we continue to build our program, Kai and Alexis have contributed so much to our culture and foundation, and I am forever thankful to them for that."
Gaining a new perspective on the game of basketball, the Lions found themselves simply grateful to get to play – no matter the outcome. Multnomah University will be wrapping up the school year over the next week, and the team will have a quicker turnaround than normal for their next season. The 2021-2022 season will be here in no time, and the Lions are excited and hopeful for what is to come.
