Walla Walla Wolves Top Lions

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University women's basketball team faced off against Walla Walla University on Friday afternoon, but the Wolves were able to come to Jim Skagen Court and defeat the Lions 73-54.

The Lions had a solid first quarter, especially Dalila Rincan who set up her teammates for easy baskets and dished out 3 of her 7 assists. However, after one quarter of play the Wolves led the Lions 21-14.

Walla Walla was able to find their offensive rhythm in the second quarter with Jaliyah Casem scoring 8 and Carolina Monetes adding 6 points in the second quarter alone, and the Lions trailed 43-31 at the half.

Walla Walla was able to turn the Lions over 25 times while only committing 14 turnovers themselves, leading them to a 73-54 win.

For the Lions, Dalila Rincan filled up the stat sheet with 15 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Rachelle Tau led the team with 17 points, while Erykah Campbell added 8 points and 11 rebounds.

Walla Walla had three players score double figures: Jaliyah Casem with 22, Carolina Montes with 18, and Jacqueline Saucedo recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lions and wolves will meet again tomorrow night at 6:00 PM.
