SPOKANE – Closing out the tournament in Spokane, Wash., the Multnomah University volleyball fell in their final two matches, losing in three sets to Lewis-Clark State College at 12th-ranked Montana Tech on Saturday.

MATCH ONE
GAME SUMMARY:
• In the opening set, both teams traded off runs with LCSC scoring seven points in a row to go up 7-3 followed by a 6-0 run by the Lions.
• Trailing 13-10, Lewis-Clark put together another 7-0 run before MU regained the lead with four straight points to go up 19-18. LCSC closed out the set scoring the final four points to take set one.
• The Warriors built a 20-11 lead before a surge by the Lions who used a 7-1 run to cut the lead to three points but couldn't overcome the early deficit.
• After jumping out 4-0 in the final set, LCSC strung together multiple points in a row on nine different occasions to secure the victory.
KEY PERFORMERS:

Maile Kam led the Lions with eight kills followed by
Sydney Amundsen with seven kills.
•
Marissa Rhodes finished with 24 assists while
Emily Weidlich tallied a match-high 19 digs in the match.
MATCH TWO
GAME SUMMARY:
• Against Montana Tech, MU was plagued with errors while Orediggers used a .389 attacking percentage to take an early lead in sets.
• Falling behind early in set two, the Lions closed the cap, coming within one point at 14-13. Montana Tech pulled away for good with a late 8-0 run to go up 2-0.
• The Lions played the best set in the third, but errors continued to be a problem as MT took the match.
KEY PERFORMERS:
• Kam collected seven kills while
Miranda Halverson,
Hannah Snyder, and
Savannah White each collected six kills.
• Rhodes finished with 26 assists, 50 overall on the day, while Weidlich and
Alyssa Mehalovich tallied eight and seven digs respectively.
