Lions Drop Close Matchup with Oregon Tech

PORTLAND – The Multnomah University men's basketball team played one of their toughest games of the season against Oregon Tech, but fell just short in the end losing 93-87 on Jim Skagen Court.

GAME SUMMARY:
  • In one of the closest games the Lions have seen this season, neither team was able to gain an edge over the other with the largest lead of the night being eight points.
  • As teams traded off buckets in the first half, the Lions took their largest lead of the night at 19-11 before the Owls found some momentum, heading into the locker room with a 44-40 advantage.
  • Down by three midway through the second half, MU scored eight straight points, capped off by a three from Justin Martin.
  • OIT finally took the lead for good as Tyler Hieb broke an 83-83 tie with a three-pointer.
 
KEY PERFORMERS:
  • Martin finished with a game high 42 points while Ben Grandle finished with 14 points and 13 rebounds to complete the double-double.
  • Stepan Zavydovskyy and Andy Brown each added 12 points of their own on the night.
  • Hieb led four Owls in double figures with 25 points and Garret Albrecht added 19 points and 10 rebounds.
