OLYMPIA – For the second night in a row, the Multnomah University women's basketball team won on a final shot from
Sequoia Wheeler, this time a three-pointer with 2.9 seconds left to defeat Evergreen State 79-77 to improve to 2-0 in the Cascade Conference.

GAME SUMMARY:
- In another high offensive game, the Lions fought a close battle against Evergreen, taking a 15-14 lead after the first quarter of action.
- MU shot 46 percent from the field, including a mark of 48 percent from three-range, going 10-for-21.
- Wheeler scored one of her five three-pointers in the final shot of the first half, giving the Lions a 39-36 lead heading into the break.
- With the game tied 67-67 with four minutes to play in the fourth quarter, back-to-back threes by Wheeler and Bethany George gave the Lions a 73-69 lead.
- The Geoducks fought back to take the lead 77-75 with 20 seconds left.
- From the top of the key, Wheeler made the go-ahead shot while a steal and free throw by Milan Woods sealed the victory of the Lions.
KEY PERFORMERS:
- Wheeler led four Lions in double figures with 26 points while Alaygza Portis and Paris Sanders finished with 11 points and Erykah Campbell tallied 10 points. Campbell and Sanders also collected seven rebounds each.
- Kayla Alvarez and George added eight points apiece while Woods dished out seven assists.
