Lions Improve to 4-0, Down New Hope Christian

EUGENE – The winning streak continues for the Multnomah University men's basketball team as they defeated New Hope Christian College 97-79 on Wednesday to improve to 4-0 on the year.

GAME SUMMARY:
  • The first half remained extremely close for both teams as the Lions entered the halftime break with a one-point lead as Andy Brown knocked down a free throw to go up 34-33.
  • Tied 36-36 to open the second half, MU scored 12 straight points to pull ahead of the Deacons, capped off by a three from Zach Richardson.
  • The Lions hit 11 three-pointers in the second half ahead of New Hope Christian, building their lead to as much as 18 points.
 
KEY PERFORMERS:
  • Richardson led MU with a game high 25 points while Ben Grandle added 22 points and 18 rebounds to complete the double-double.
  • Behind them was Justin Martin with 18 points and Brett Blackstock with 17 points.
  • Briggs Young continued to pass well as he's done all season, dishing out 12 assists.
 
COMING UP NEXT:
