EUGENE, Ore. - With four players hitting double-digits for top-ranked Northwest Christian (22-3, 15-2 CCC), the Multnomah Lions (6-21, 2-15 CCC) dropped the road game, 96-76. Junior
Moe Keita led all Lions with 16 points on 7-for-9 shooting from the field, along with solid bench production from Senior
Trever Cooley who added 11 points during his 15 minutes of game time. Northwest Christian's Jay Mayernik fueled the Beacons with 20 points and 18 rebounds.
From the start, the Beacons opened a lead and built a 14-4 deficit before a Multnomah timeout with 16:29 left. Despite the early offensive strike, the Lions pushed back with a 16-5 run to bring the game within one after a three-pointer from
Trever Cooley and layup by Senior
Thomas Simien. The Beacons would answer Multnomah's push by extending their lead to a first-half high of 15 points at the 1:15 mark, eventually taking a 42-31 lead into the locker rooms.
Moe Keita shined in the first-half for Multnomah, scoring 12 of his 16.
Northwest Christian continued to expand the point differential, outscoring the Lions in the second-half, 54-45. Both Cooley and
Ezekiel Martin put in 8 points in the second-half, as well as 7 from
Ted Hilliard. Northwest Christian eventually took the home win, 96-76. Beacon players Jay Mayernik and Jack Hackman led all players with 20 points.
