Three Point Flurry Not Enough for Lions

PORTLAND, Oregon - The offense was flowing Saturday night for the Lions and visiting conference opponent, Northwest Christian University. Multnomah had four players with double-digits in the points column, led by Junior Guard, Darius Redrick (29) and Senior Michael Escobedo (15) who splashed in four from behind the arc. The impressive offense from the Lions ended up not enough as the NCU Beacons took the game, 98-88.

Things stayed competitive early on with both teams trading baskets until a late first-half push from the Beacons stretched the lead to 47-37. After halftime adjustments from both teams, the offense was red hot. Sophomore Ben Grandle contributed 14 points of offense, shooting 4-7 from three. Other impact players were Freshmen Guard, Max Upchurch who added 13 points and Junior Moe Keita with 6 points and 11 rebounds. Standouts for the Beacons were Loomis (17) and Mayernik with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
