PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University men's basketball team ended their losing streak on Tuesday night, earning a 112-80 road win against Portland Bible.
Senior guard
Blake Updike finished with a game high 30 points with five three-pointers and added six rebounds while
Thomas Simien earned his fifth double-double of the season with 24 points and 15 rebounds, while shooting 12-of-15 from the field.
A few nights after tying a Cascade Collegiate Conference record for three-pointers made in a single game (22), the Lions hit 18 threes while
Mikey Chown going 4-of-4 from behind the arc for 14 points while
Robbie Miller scored a career high 12 and
Jason Wyncoop added 12 more.
MU scored early and often to start the game, totaling a 17 point lead halfway through the first half before heading in to the locker room at 59-34.
The Lions finished 57 percent from the field, 43 percent from downtown and held a rebounding margin of 51-36.
Multnomah took their largest lead of the night, 36 points, with 5:47 left on the clock after a layup by Miller made it 99-63.
The Lions will head back out on the road this weekend as they conclude CCC play at Northwest on Friday and The Evergreen State College on Saturday before playing their final game of the year at home against New Hope Christian next Monday.
