KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech had five in double figures, recorded 30 assists and connected on 20 triples, including 12 in the first half, in a 97-61 rout over Multnomah University in Cascade Collegiate Conference men's basketball action tonight at Danny Miles Court.
Oregon Tech improves to 11-4 overall and 2-4 in the conference standings. MU fall to 4-9 on the season and 1-5 in CCC play.
Lavar Moore scored 10 of his game-high 26 in the first four minutes of play to take scoring honors. Derek Evans netted 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to record a double-double. Austen Flint had 11 points and eight assists with Connor Scott scoring 11 points in just nine minutes of play. Brandon Halter rounded out the double-digit scorers for Tech with 10. Andrew Weber grabbed eight rebounds to go with six assists with Moore handing out six assists of his own.
Oregon Tech connected on 38-of-81 (46.9%) from the floor, including a 20-for-38 effort from beyond the arch. Of Tech's 38-makes, 30 came on assists. The Owls only shot two free throws making one. Tech held a 44-37 edge on the boards.
Blake Updike led the MU offense with 17 points followed by a double-double effort by
Jordan Paris with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Thomas Simien notched 11 points and handed out four assists in the loss for the Lions.
MU was limited to just 38.9% from the floor on 21-of-54 with the Lions connecting on 7-for-17 from long distance.
The Lions will play at home next weekend as they post College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon.
