Portland, Ore. – The Multnomah University volleyball team finished their final match of the season on the road Saturday night at The Evergreen State College, losing in three sets, to close out their first year in the Cascade Conference.
The Lions will end the 2015-16 campaign with a 3-20 overall record in their first season of competition as an NAIA institution.
MU started out strong in the opening set before a 6-1 run gave the Geoducks the early lead in the match, 25-19.
Patty Batoon led the way offensively for the Lions, recording 12 kills while
Miranda Halverson and
Devyn Sigurdson each had nine and seven kills respectively.

The Lions played their closest set of the night in the final where they held an 18-16 lead, late in the set to try and avoid a sweep. Evergreen scored six of the final seven points to take the victory.
